PostDoc Position on Monitoring and Feedback Systems Stress in Action

This postdoctoral project is part of the Stress in Action research program, which brings together more than 80 multidisciplinary scientists from six Dutch universities to investigate stress in daily life.

The goal of the research program is to measure stress in daily life using wearables, smartphones, passive sensing, and small cognitive tasks. The project will address real-time integration of subjective and objective user data and the design of non-intrusive and fair motivational feedback strategies.

The research will also focus on optimising the presentation of cognitive tasks and self-report and designing personalised end reports. In the coming years, the monitoring and feedback systems will be used to monitor large-scale cohorts for three months.

Research areas: Wearable sensing, smartphone-based monitoring, passive sensing, human-computer interaction, personalised feedback, and daily-life stress.
Research environment: The researcher will work under the supervision of scientists from the HMI group and UMCG in Groningen.

This postdoctoral research position focuses on semantic interoperability and explainable, knowledge-driven artificial intelligence for smart environments.

The project aims to bring together leading European players in the field of generative AI and ensure that European companies, especially SMEs, have access to tools and resources for language technologies and Large Language Models (LLMs).

The Engineering Dynamics group in the Faculty of Engineering Technology at the University of Twente is offering a postdoctoral position within the Scale-up PIC based sensing project.

The research addresses temperature dependency in Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC)-based sensing systems. The project aims to reduce components, increase manufacturability and integration capability, and decrease costs without compromising accuracy.

The proposed solution is the development of a Physics Informed Machine Learning method that combines physics-based and data-driven models. The research will contain both experimental and modelling work.

The modelling will focus on identifying key physical relationships between temperature and complex photonic circuitry. Experimental work will be conducted in close collaboration with the industrial partner PhotonFirst.
